Michele Bruniera

... nasceu em Cornélio Procópio, uma pequena cidade no sul do Brasil. Ela começou a pintar em 1993, em Curitiba. Em 1999, começou a frequentar escolas de arte e ateliês de alguns
artistas locais em Londrina, Brasil. No ano seguinte, sua pintura "Tecnologia e Comunicação" foi premiada e escolhida para estampar cartões pré-pagos da Sercomtel Companhia de Telecomunicações. Em 2001, depois de se mudar para Nova York, começou a frequentar The Art Students League de Nova York. Em 2003, ela tornou-se membro e monitora de Lukach Andrew em 2006. Desde então ela tem exposto suas obras no Brasil e nos Estados Unidos.

...was born in Cornelio Procopio, a small city in the south Brazil. She started to paint in 1993 in Curitiba. In 1999, she started to attend art schools and studios of some local artists in Londrina, Brazil. In the following year, her painting “Tecnologia e Comunicacao” was awarded and chosen to stamp pre-paid calling cards of Sercomtel Telecommunications Company.

In 2001, after moving to New York, Bruniera started to attend The Art Students League of New York. In 2003, she became a member, and Andrew Lukach’s monitor in 2006. Since then she has been exhibiting her works in Brazil and the United States.

“I have been greatly inspired by figure. The human body combined with brush strokes can express so much. When I start to open my cans of paint, most of the time nothing is planned out. I feel the painting coming out of my hands. When I start applying the paint in a random way, spots turn into loose shapes and forms. Sometimes I am in a hurry and impatient with the process, but I let the paint guide me and show me the way. Finally today, after many years, my feelings are expressed by the figures in my paintings.”
